CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 99-109 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING NOVEMBER 2, 1999 AS THE <br /> DATE FOR A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION AND <br /> ESTABLISHING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES IN <br /> CONNECTION THEREWITH <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of June 15, 1999, the City Council accepted the City Clerk's <br /> certification of an initiative petition entitled the Pleasanton Public Planning <br /> Initiative; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of July 20, 1999, the City Council determined to call for a special <br /> election on the initiative in November 1999; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Elections Code §9219 and §9282 set forth the procedures for arguments in favor of <br /> or in opposition to any city measure; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Elections Code §9220 and §9285 set forth the procedures for rebuttal arguments. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Call for Special Election. Pursuant to Elections Code §9214, the City Council <br /> hereby establishes November 2, 1999 as the date for the election at which the <br /> voters of Pleasanton shall decide whether or not to approve the Pleasanton Public <br /> Planning Initiative, a copy of which initiative is attached to this resolution. The <br /> Measure shall be designated by letter by the County of Alameda Registrar of <br /> Voters. <br /> <br />Section 2: Ballot Language. The ballot language for the initiative measure shall be as <br /> follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
