CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-125 <br />RESOI~JTION APPROVING THE MITIGATED NEGATIVE <br />DECLARATION FOR THE PROPOSED SENIOR CENTER <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has applied for development of an <br />approximately 23,000 square foot senior citizens center, <br />park, and related improvements to be located on an <br />approximately 17 acre site located on the west side of <br />Sunol Boulevard opposite its intersection with Mission <br />Drive; and <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is "A" (Agricultural) District; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of April 26, 1989, a Mitigated Negative <br />Declaration was prepared and adopted for this project. <br />At that time, the Senior Center was planned as a project <br />being funded entirely by City revenues. Since that time, <br />the City has acquired State funds for the Senior Center. <br />State funded projects require submittal of the Mitigated <br />Negative Declaration to the State Clearinghouse for <br />review of responsible agencies; and <br />WHEREAS, an Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration were <br />prepared and circulated to the State Clearinghouse as <br />required. The City has not received any comments on this <br />project; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has received and reviewed the Initial <br />Study dated April 18, 1989, and received the <br />recommendations of the staff; and <br />WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held on August 6, 1991, <br />at which time the public was given the opportunity to <br />comment on the environmental impacts of the proposal; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the potential impacts in <br />accordance with the applicable state and local guidelines <br />governing the preparation of Negative Declarations and <br />Environmental Impact Reports; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that based upon the review of the <br />Initial Study and the testimony and documentary evidence <br />presented at the public hearing that there may be <br />significant impacts on the environment, but that <br />mitigation measures have been taken to render these <br />potential impacts insignificant; <br />
