CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-111 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING IN CONCEPT A PROPERTY <br />EXCHANGE AGREEI~NT WITH PLEASANTON UNIFIED <br />SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />WHEREAS, for a number of years the Pleasanton School District and <br />the City of Pleasanton have been discussing the School <br />District's interest in exchanging property which it owns <br />for property which the City owns; and <br />WHEREAS, the School District also requested Council to state its <br />position on a number of other issues relating to property <br />which the District owns; and <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of July 16, 1991, the City Council <br />reviewed the report (SR 91:289) of the City Manager <br />regarding the above issues; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1: The City Council approves in concept a property <br />exchange agreement by which the City would exchange its <br />13.5 acre Stoneridge Drive property for the School <br />District's 7.2 acre upper field property on Bernal Avenue <br />and the two acre parcel on First Street. <br />Section 2: The City and School District staff shall work <br />together to draft a real property exchange agreement in <br />final form to be approved by the Council and the School <br />District; a material part of said agreement shall contain <br />provisions concerning a procedure by which the School <br />District would receive a preference for growth management <br />approvals for surplus School District properties which <br />receive approval for residential development.. <br />Section 3: The City will review uses for surplus School District <br />properties following normal City review procedures; for <br />example, with respect to the School District's 42.5 acres <br />in the Sycamore Road area, the City will review <br />development proposals for that site in connection with <br />the North Sycamore Specific Plan. <br />Section 4: The City Council will continue to work with the School <br />District to explore plans and options with developers for <br />the construction of new schools in a timely manner. <br />Section 5: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br />upon its passage and adoption. <br />
