CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-83 <br />RESOLUTION CONCERNING POSSIBLE PROCEDURES FOR <br />APPOINTMENTS TO COMMISSIONS AND BOARDS <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of May 21, 1991, the City Council reviewed <br />the report of the City Manager (SR 91:198) regarding <br />alternatives to the existing procedures for appointments <br />to Commissions and Boards; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1: The City Council intends to change the existing <br />procedures regarding appointments to various boards and <br />commissions by (a) having the full Council, or a <br />subcommittee thereof, interview all candidates and <br />(b) having Councilmembers nominate candidates, followed <br />by a vote on those candidates nominated. <br />Section 2: City staff is directed to prepare a resolution for <br />further Council consideration setting forth in detail the <br />procedures for appointments. <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br />upon its passage and adoption. <br />I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON MAY 21, 1991 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Mohr, Scribner, and Tarver <br />NOES: Councilmember Butler and Mayor Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />ATTEST: <br />~~ ~~ ~~ <br />Pegg zidro, City Clerk <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />~. <br />Michael H.
