<br />the commercial economy of Pleasanton's Central Business District. <br />Current boundaries of the OPBID are the railroad tracks on <br />Stanley Blvd. to New Bernal and First Street to Pleasanton Ave. (see <br />attached map). For the coming fiscal year, proposed boundary changes <br />in the parking and business improvement area are as follows (also <br />see map): <br />The Arroyo del Valle on the north, New Bernal Ave. on the <br />south, the east side of Peters Ave., and the west side of First <br />Street, including all of Old Bernal Ave. <br />ACf I V I TIES AND IMPROVEMENTS: <br />During the past year the Association has sponsored eighteen <br />"Friday Concerts in the Park" (actually one was a ~nday night), <br />jointly sponsored the second annual Halloween Catwalk in Downtown with <br />the City Employees Association and Recreation Dept., and in January <br />and February co-sponsored both the program to put American flags <br />and yellow ribbons up on Nmin Street and the reception honoring <br />Pleasanton military families annd pole donors. <br />Downtown Christmas activity included co-sponsorship of the <br />annual Christmas Tree Lighting, a December Open House in ,retail stores, <br />Santa Claus and Holly Rabbit and carriage rides on two Saturdays, <br />four Saturdays of live holiday entertainment, and a business and <br />window decorating contest with over $500 worth of Downtown prizes <br />given away. <br />Thanksgiving weekend through the New Year holiday, 75 new <br />lighted pole decorations were in place alongNmin Street. Funding for <br />the decorations is provided by the Association and the City of Pleasanton <br /> <br />- 2 - <br />
