<br />I' <br /> <br />4F <br /> <br /> <br />\. <br /> <br />.) <br /> <br />- . <br /> <br />pLEASANTONc <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />August 15,2006 <br />Parks and Community Services <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF PROPOSED FY 2006/2007 PARK RENOVATION <br />FUND PROJECTS <br /> <br />PARKS AND RECREATIONS COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />The Parks and Recreation Commission, at its July 13, 2006 meeting, <br />recommended City Council approval of the proposed list of Park Renovation <br />Fund projects for FY 2006/2007. <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />Staff concurs with the recommendation of the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission. <br /> <br />The Park Renovation Fund, a component of the "Financing our Future" <br />replacement plan, provides for major renovations to City parks and street <br />medians. For FY 2006/07, approximately $154,000 has been allocated for <br />renovation work throughout the City. The attached summaries indicate the <br />proposed projects by location and estimated cost. These include <br />improvements to the landscaping surrounding the new restroom under <br />construction at Delucchi Park ($30,000); continued replacement of dead or <br />dying plant material in street median areas ($28,000); replacement of <br />backstops ($20,000) and storage sheds ($10,000) at Sports and Recreation <br />Community Park; creation of a small dog exercise area at Muirwood Park <br />($20,000); irrigation system renovations ($29,000); and replenishment of <br />playground surfacing wood chip mulch ($17,000). <br /> <br />SR 06:197 <br />Page 1 <br />
