The amount of the
commitment was a two-fifths share, or approximately $93,550. Staff from
Pleasanton and Livermore have met to discuss the details of the noise
monitoring system, and while staff believes there is a benefit to Pleasanton
residents from the installation of the system, the Airport drives the need for
the system. Consequently, staff is recommending that the City assist the
City of Livermore in installing the noise monitoring system in Pleasanton,
but ask Livermore to pay for the system from their Airport Enterprise
Account.

Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council:

BACKGROUND

The flight path for the Livermore Airport has raised concerns from residents in both Livermore
and Pleasanton regarding noise impacts. Recently, the City of Livermore has been considering a
new draft master plan (2004) for the airport. The 2004 plan would have superceded the 1975

SR 06:206
Page I of3
