DRAFT

In response to an inquiry by Chairperson Arkin whether the City could put a no-right-turn sign
on Stoneridge Drive and Santa Rita Road, Mr. Tassano replied that he could simulate that
condition and report the results to the Commission.

Commissioner O'Connor expressed concem about the elimination of traffic signals at Blackbird
Street, Crestline Street and Hansen Street from a safety perspective. He noted that children had
been hit in those areas, and many drivers did not come to a full stop at those locations. He would
not be in favor of eliminating those stop signs.

Conunissioner O'Connor noted that there was a significant traffic bottleneck when school lets
out on Case Avenue. Mr. Tassano agreed and noted that the crossing time and the left-turn time
could run at the same time if one crosswalk were to be removed and the students crossed on only
one side of the street. He reconunended retaining the crosswalk on the west side. Staffis
continuing to review that intersection.

Chairperson Arkin suggested that this item be continued to allow the other Conunissioners
comment on this item.

Conunissioner Fox suggested that the Conunissioners send comments to Mr. Tassano via email.

This item was continued to the meeting of July 26, 2006.

DRAFT EXCERPTS: PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES, July 12, 2006

Page 3 of3
