CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 91-33 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPOINTING CATHLEEN RICE TO FILL <br /> THE UNEXPIRED TERM OF THE OFFICE OF TREASURER <br /> OF THE CITY OF PT~ASANTON <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Nancy D'Arcy was elected in November 1988 as Treasurer of <br /> the City of Pleasanton for a four year term; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, sadly, Nancy D'Arcy died in February 1991, which left the <br /> office of Treasurer vacant; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Government Code, Section 36512, requires the City Council <br /> either to fill the vacancy by appointment or to call a <br /> special election; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the vacancy should be <br /> filled by appointment. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1: The City Council hereby appoints Cathleen Rice to <br /> fill the unexpired term of the office of Treasurer of the <br /> City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON MARCH 7, 1991 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarver, and <br /> Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> ATTEST: <br /> <br />Michael H. Roush, City Attorney <br /> <br /> <br />
