CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 91-12 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION DECLARING SUNDAY, JANUARY 27, 1991 <br /> AS A DAY OF PATRIOTISM AND RECOGNITION OF <br /> <br /> LT. a. G. MARK S. ANDERSON <br /> <br /> ONE OF PLEASANTON'S MILITARY PERSONNEL <br /> SERVING IN THE PERSIAN GULF <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on January 16, 1991, the United States of America, <br /> incoordination with 28 other nations, commenced military <br /> action against the government of Iraq; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, many families in Pleasanton have loved ones who are <br /> assigned to the Persian Gulf area during this national <br /> crisis; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council and citizens of Pleasanton wish to <br /> express their deep appreciation for the services of these <br /> people in this difficult time and to let them know how <br /> proud we are of them; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council of the City of Pleasanton declares <br /> that Sunday, January 27, 1991, shall be set aside as a <br /> day of patriotism and recognition in honor of <br /> Lt. J. G. Mark S. Anderson, one of Pleasanton's military <br /> personnel serving in the Persian Gulf. <br /> <br />Section 2: We sincerely appreciate his dedication, patriotism, and <br /> unswerving commitment to the United States of America. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br /> its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 22, 1991 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarver, and <br /> Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> ATTEST: <br /> <br />A~~ Pegg~/~/.C~zldro,dJCity Clerk <br /> : <br /> <br />Michael H.
