CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 92-29 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SETTT.RM~NT OF WORK <br /> RELATED DEATH BENEFITS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there is now pending before the Worker's Compensation <br /> Appeals Board a death benefits issue involving the City <br /> and Vicente Castro, who retired from the City on <br /> disability in 1987; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City's worker's compensation claims administrator has <br /> requested authority from the City Council to settle this <br /> matter in an amount more fully discussed in the memo <br /> dated January 3, 1992, from the Director of Personnel to <br /> the City Attorney; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such authority is reasonable' and justified under the <br /> circumstances. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Attorney is authorized to settle the above- <br /> mentioned matter in an amount not to exceed that <br /> requested by the Director of Personnel. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON FEBRUARY 4, 1992 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarver, and <br /> Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />~ Pegg~0~zid~o, City Clerk <br />Michael H.
