CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 92-10 RESOLUTION APPROVING A NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR THE APPLICATION SUBMITTED BY THE CITY OF PT~ASANTON TO i~D ~ CIRCULATION ET.'F:MENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN BY DELETING USE OF LIGHT RAIL IN THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA, AS FILED UNDER CASE GP-91-5 WHEREAS, at its meeting of January 7, 1992, the City Council received a proposed negative declaration for the application of the City of Pleasanton to amend the Circulation Element of the Pleasanton General Plan by deleting the second sentence of paragraph 3 on page III-9 which reads: "These corridors could be used for light rail transit sometime in the future;" and WHEREAS, the City Council has received and reviewed the Initial Study dated August 1, 1991 and received the recommendations of the staff and Planning Commission; and WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held at which time the public was given the opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of the proposed General Plan amendment; and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the potential impacts in accordance with the applicable state and local guidelines governing the preparation of Negative Declarations and Environmental Impact Reports; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed General Plan amendment would not have any significant adverse effects on the environment; and WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that the proposed project will have no potential for adverse impacts on the site's wildlife; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Approves the Negative Declaration for the application of the City of Pleasanton to amend the Circulation Element of the Pleasanton General Plan by amending or deleting the second sentence of paragraph 3 on page III-9.
