<br />Overlay: This construction method involves grinding the edges of the existing pavement, and <br />placing a new surface course of 1.75" thickness of asphalt concrete on top of the existing <br />pavement. <br /> <br />BIDS <br /> <br />Sealed bids for this project were opened on June 6, 2006. There were a total of four (4) bids <br />received that ranged frorn $2,246,736 to $2,423,034 compared with the engineer's estimate of <br />$2,262,268 (see attached Bid Summary). <br /> <br />The low bid of $2,246,736 was received from O'Grady Paving of Mountain View, California. <br />Previous work performed by O'Grady Paving, Inc. was verified to be satisfactory. <br /> <br />BUDGET <br /> <br />Project funding and estimated expenditures are presented below: <br /> <br />Funding <br />CIP # 055003 remaining (Gas Tax & Meas.
