CERTIFICATE OF THE CITY CLERK <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA ) <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON ) <br /> <br /> I, Peggy L. Ezidro, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, do hereby certify <br />that: <br /> <br /> 1. On Monday, May 24, 1999, Carole Varela, Stanley Erickson, and <br />Ellen Dougherty submitted to this office an initiative petition entitled: "An <br />Initiative Ordinance Amending the Pleasanton General Plan to Require Voter <br />Approval for Specified Land Use Decisions Involving Ten or More Dwelling <br />Units and for Certain Commercial Developments, and Designating Certain Areas <br />on the General Plan Land Use Map as Agriculture and Grazing that Could Not Be <br />Changed Without Voter Approval"; and <br /> <br /> 2. In accordance with California Elections Code Section 9202, 9210(a), <br />it has been determined that the County Clerk's last official report of registration to <br />the Secretary of State at the time the Notice of Intention was published was 36,265 <br />registered voters and that 10% of said registration would require 3,627 valid <br />signatures to qualify the petition and 15% would require 5,440 valid signatures to <br />qualify the initiative petition for a special election; and <br /> <br /> 3. The Registrar of Voters has examined the petition signatures, using <br />the random sample method as set forth in Elections Code Section 9115, and it has <br />been determined that the initiative petition is hereby acknowledged as sufficient <br />this 3rd day of June, 1999. <br /> <br /> This initiative petition is found to be sufficient to require the City Council of the <br /> City of Pleasanton to take action as specified in California Elections Code Section <br /> 9214. <br /> <br /> In witness whereof, I hereby set my hand and affix my official seal this 3rd day of <br /> June, 1999. <br /> <br /> d <br /> <br /> <br />
