The Community Park is planned to be developed in four
phases, as shown in Figure 3.

. Phase One - The first phase of the
Community Park was given the "highest
reasonable priority in the development of
the Bernal Site (Property)," in accordance
with the citizens' "Initiative to Save Our
Community Park." PUD development
plans were approved by the City Council
for the 13-acre Phase "One" of the
Community Park in July 2005. Plans called
primarily for the construction of two of
the lighted
baseball diamonds and an informal
baseball field. The southernmost third of
the future Pleasanton Avenue section,
starting at Valley Avenue, and extending
northward is also included in Phase One.

. Phase Two - This could include the
lighted soccer stadium, the north-
westernmost lighted soccer field. soccer
plaza, small group picnic area, trails and
parking.

. Phase Three - This phase might contain
the lighted baseball stadium, the
easternmost lighted soccer field, the
1,000-seat amphitheater, trails, on-site
parking, 250 shared off-site parking
spaces within the Phase II Specific Plan's
Sub-Area 1 (site of the potential Cultural
Arts Center) and the Park maintenance
facility. This phase could also include the
completion of Pleasanton Avenue, from
its Phase One northerly terminus to
Bernal Avenue.

. Phase Four - The final phase could
include the remaining Community Park
facilities, consisting of the lighted
football/lacrosse field and other active
open space uses at the five-acre site
located east of the intersection of Valley
Avenue and Pleasanton Avenue.

12
