CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 99-076 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AMENDING THE MASTER FEE SCHEDULE <br /> TO ESTABLISH A FIREARM SALES PERMIT FEE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on June 2, 1998, the electorate of the City of Pleasanton adopted Ordinance No. <br /> 1719 to add Chapter 6.64, Firearm Sales, to the Pleasanton Municipal Code to <br /> provide for the regulation of firearm sales through a permitting process and to <br /> prohibit the sale of "Saturday Night Specials"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 6.46,040(C) of Chapter 6.64 provides that a non-refundable fee to <br /> administer Chapter 6.64 shall be established by City Council resolution; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the firearm sales permit fee is based on the costs associated with the average staff <br /> time spent reviewing and processing the permit application, and the average staff <br /> time spent investigating the applicant; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the recommended fees are $350 for an initial permit and $200 for a renewal <br /> permit; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as part of the application process, applicants are required to have their fingerprints <br /> processed by the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the cost to process fingerprints by the Department of Justice and the Federal <br /> Bureau of Investigation shall be charged separately from the permit fee and shall <br /> equal the costs set by the California Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau <br /> of Investigation, in addition to any costs associated with using the fingerprinting <br /> processing equipment. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> <br />
