CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 99-042 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION UPHOLDING THE APPEAL OF CASE <br /> AP-98-14 AND THEREBY APPROVING THE APPLICATION <br /> OF JACK CHESTNUT FOR CONCEPTUAL APPROVAL OF <br /> AN ADDITION TO AN EXISTING HOUSE AND <br /> ESTABLISHING A PROCESS FOR THE FINAL DESIGN OF <br /> THE HOUSE AND FOR A PROPOSED SECOND UNIT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of December 9, 1998, the Planning Commission denied the <br /> applications of Jack Chestnut for: (1) conditional use permit and administrative <br /> design review approvals to construct a new, one-story, approximately 600 sq.fi. <br /> detached secondary unit to be located adjacent to the eastern side yard, in the <br /> approximate location of an existing detached accessory structure (the existing <br /> accessory structure would be demolished), and (2) administrative design review <br /> approval to construct an approximately 2,436 sq.fi. one-and two-story addition to <br /> the existing 1,316 sq. Ft. dwelling located at 4128 Stanley Boulevard; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, within the time specified by the Pleasanton Municipal Code, the applicant <br /> submitted an appeal to the decision of the Planning Commission; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of February 16, 1999, the City Council reviewed a report from the <br /> Director of Planning and Community Development together with copies of staff <br /> reports to the Planning Commission regarding this matter; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the matter was continued by the City Council and the applicant was directed to <br /> meet with staff and the concerned neighbors to try and resolve the design issues; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on April 6, 1999, at which time applicant <br /> and any other member of the public was offered an opportunity to present evidence <br /> regarding this appeal; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after a review of the material presented, the City Council finds that: <br /> <br /> <br />
