CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 93-138 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION DIRECTING NO CHANGE TO THE <br /> ALIGNMENT OF RAY/ST. JOHN STREETS AT MAIN <br /> STREET BUT CONSIDERING THE RESERVATION OF A <br /> TWO FOOT EASEMENT ON THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF <br /> THE FORMER CHEVRON SITE WHEN THAT PROPERTY <br /> DEVELOPS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as part of the City's Downtown Revitalization Plan, the <br /> City Council directed that the staff should present <br /> options to the Council concerning the realignment of Ray <br /> Street and St. John Street at the Main Street <br /> intersection; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has not adopted a specific design for <br /> this intersection; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, with the removal of the Chevron Service Station at this <br /> intersection, it is timely to discuss and decide a <br /> realignment plan or street improvement plan for this <br /> intersection; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff presented to the Council on November 2, 1993 a <br /> number of options, including an option to make no changes <br /> to the existing intersection other than to reserve two <br /> feet on the southern portion of the Chevron Service <br /> Station site to accommodate certain improvements on Ray <br /> Street only; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~HE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Council directs that there be no change to the existing <br /> alignment of Ray Street and St. John Street at Main <br /> Street but, in conjunction with any future development of <br /> the former Chevron service station site, directs staff to <br /> consider widening the right-of-way of Ray Street by two <br /> feet on the south side, the purpose of which would be to <br /> create six foot wide sidewalks on both sides of Ray <br /> Street, increase the Ray Street westbound lane from <br /> eleven feet to twelve feet and increase the Ray Street <br /> eastbound lane from fourteen feet to sixteen feet. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
