<br />r <br /> <br /> <br />41 <br /> <br />'- <br /> <br />./ <br /> <br />pLEASANTONc <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />May 2, 2006 <br />Parks and Community Services <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF A TWO (2) YEAR CONTRACT WITH EAST BAY <br />VOLLEYBALL OFFICIALS ASSOCIATION TO OFFICIATE <br />YOUTH AND ADULT SPORTS PROGRAMS <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />That the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute the attached <br />two (2) year Agreement with East Bay Volleyball Officials Association. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />The City has negotiated a new agreement with East Bay Volleyball Officials <br />Association for 2006 and 2007. The Agreement provides a raise in per- <br />game fees, with the cost increases offset by program fees. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The Department of Parks and Community Services' Youth and Adult Sports Program contracts <br />for officiating services with East Bay Volleyball Officials Association. The services provided <br />include selecting, training, scheduling, and supervising officials for youth and adult volleyball <br />and basketball league games in accordance with a schedule determined by the Department. <br /> <br />East Bay Volleyball Officials Association has been officiating these sports for the past year, and <br />staff recently negotiated the attached two (2) year contract extension. The Agreement would be <br />in effect through December 2007, and anticipates East Bay Volleyball Officials Association <br />providing services for approximately 625 games annually. The Agreement has been reviewed <br />and approved as to form by the City Attomey's office. <br /> <br />SR 06:134 <br />Page I <br />
