<br /> <br />6A <br /> <br />pLEASANTONc <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />May 2, 2006 <br />Fire Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING: WEED ABATEMENT PROGRAM 2006 <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br />Adopt the attached resolution that orders the abatement of weeds, rubbish <br />and refuse on the properties enumerated in Resolution No. 06-027. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />On April 4, 2006, as part of the 2006 Livermore-Pleasanton Fire <br />Department's Weed Abatement Program, the City Council adopted <br />Resolution No. 06-020. Resolution No. 06-020 declared that weeds, rubbish <br />and refuse on specified properties constituted a public nuisance, ordered the <br />abatement thereof, and set a public hearing to hear objections to the <br />proposed abatement. The purpose of this public hearing is for the City <br />Council to hear and consider these objections, if any, and order that the <br />weeds be abated by a contractor. The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire <br />Department recommends that the City Council adopt the attached resolution <br />that orders the abatement of weeds, rubbish and refuse on the properties <br />enumerated in Resolution No. 06-027. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On April 4, 2006, in accordance with the weed abatement program provided in Government <br />Code sections 39560 - 39588, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 06-020, which declared <br />that weeds, rubbish and refuse on specified properties constituted a public nuisance, ordered the <br />abatement thereof, and set a public hearing to hear objections to the proposed abatement.
