<br />To become licensed by theCalifomia Department of Consumer Affairs as a <br />cemetery broker or a cemetery salesperson, you need to meet these <br />requirements. For an individual broker license, you must post a $10,000 <br />surety bond. <br /> <br />l <br />I <br />I <br />~ <br />I <br /> <br />The license tenn is one year; the renewal fee is $300 and the late fee is $25. <br />The renewal fee for multiple corporate officers or partners is $100 each. <br /> <br />To be eligible to apply for licensure as a cemetery salesperson, you must <br />meet the following requirements: <br /> <br />. Be employed by a licensed cemetery broker. <br />. Have committed no acts or crimes constituting grounds for denial of <br />licensure under Section 480 of the Business and Professions Code. <br /> <br />To apply for licensure as a cemetery salesperson, you must submit a <br />completed application fonn with your signature and that of the employing <br />cemetery broker, along with a filing fee of $30 to the Cemetery and Funeral <br />Bureau, P. O. In a memorandum of Mau, 2004, <br />the City analyzed the concept of forming a Cemetery District. The document is <br />attached to this report as Appendix C. the District approach seems unrealistic to <br />implement. <br /> <br />To maximize the use of any funds raised from whatever source, a key <br />component is for the City to actually take title to the property to be an <br />unregulated cemetery for State purposes. <br /> <br />A Management Plan we see as the best approach is summarized as follows: <br /> <br />1. City of Pleasanton exercises the option to buy the Odd Fellows Cemetery <br />for $1.00 prior to April 13, 2006. <br /> <br />2. The Committee to preserve the Cemetery fonnalizes their organization as <br />a tax-exempt foundation which can accept grants from the City, <br />individuals, corporations and other foundations. <br /> <br />11 <br />
