CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 93-111 RESOLUTION CLARIFYINQ THE ROLE AND SCOPE OF THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE MAKINQ THE APPOINTMENTS TO THE COMMITTEE WHEREAS, on June 16, 1992, the City Council created the Pleasanton Economic Development Committee to conduct an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of Pleasanton to maintain a positive business climate to: encourage and achieve completion of the City's long-term general plan as adopted (or amended) and to provide an ongoing stable economic base to provide the goods, services and facilities desired by the community; and WHEREAS, the Economic Development Committee made recommendations to the City Council, one of which called for the establishment of a standing Economic Development Advisory Committee; and WHEREAS, on December 15, 1992, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 93-230 creating the Economic Development Advisory Committee and set forth its role and scope; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the recommendations of staff for clarification of the role and scope of the Committee; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the recommendation of the Mayor for the initial appointments to the Committee. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OFTHE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The City Council does hereby establish the Economic Development Advisory Committee which shall serve as follows: a. The mission of the Economic Development Advisory Committee shall be to assess the current and ongoing business climate in the City of Pleasanton and to offer suggestions and recommendations to the City Council intended to maintain a strong economic development base in the City. b. The Committee will focus on general economic trends, issues and governmental processes in an attempt to identify opportunities to assist and promote economic development in the City of Pleasanton.
