Adjacent to the Railroad Avenue entrance is the ticket booth <br />which is embellished with a continuously lit vertical glazed corner 'marquee'. <br /> <br />The park side of the new Art Center features a curvilinear wall, clad with vertical board <br />natural cedar siding that ties the various volumes together and provides a soft building <br />edge next to the landscaped park. It is a treatment ELS has used on similar projects and <br />seems to be a good choice next to the brick of the old Firehouse. One corner of the <br />theater would project beyond the curved wall to feature another lit corner 'marquee' to <br />mark the entrance from the park side. The entrance glazing and doors are made up of a <br />combination of wood and metal configured in multiple panes to relate to the steel sash <br />windows of the historic Firehouse. <br /> <br />Floor Plan/Circulation <br /> <br />The proposed design provides the City with the opportunity to construct all or just cer1ain <br />connected functions of the project in that the shell could be completed with various <br />elements phased if required due to funding constraints. Staff believes the City may be <br />able to construct the entire project at one time, complete with all finishes and detailing; <br />however, there are always unforeseen circumstances in the construction process that may <br />preclude this goal.
