Exhibit A <br />Construction Management Services for <br />Santos Ranch Road Water Pump Station and Water Facilities Project <br />1 - PROJECT UNDERSTANDING AND APPROACH <br />Tetra Tech, Inc. is pleased to submit this <br />proposal to the City of Pleasanton (City) <br />to provide Construction Management <br />Services for the Santos Ranch Road Pump <br />Station and Water Facilities Project. We are <br />prepared to assign a highly experienced <br />Construction Management Team with the <br />technical expertise specific to this assignment. <br />As this presentation demonstrates, our team <br />possesses the necessary resources to quickly <br />respond to the City's needs throughout the <br />construction of the water system improvements. <br />PROJECT UNDERSTANDING <br />It is the desire of the City to engage the services <br />of a qualified consulting firm to provide <br />comprehensive construction management <br />services during the demolition and <br />reconstruction of three water booster pumping <br />stations along Santos Ranch Road. Construction <br />activities will, in part, include: <br />• Demolition and reconstruction of three <br />pump station buildings. <br />• Replacement of existing piping, valving, <br />pumps, pump cans, electrical and <br />mechanical equipment. <br />• Construction of a new 25,000 gallon water <br />tank. <br />• Site grading and storm drainage system <br />construction. <br />• Conversion of electrical services to Delta <br />service.' <br />As Design Engineer for the Santos Ranch Road <br />Pump Station and Water Facilities Project, Tetra <br />Tech is intimately familiar with the design <br />elements and construction requirements essential <br />for the successful, timely completion of this <br />project. Thus, if selected as your construction <br />management consultant, we are prepared to "hit <br />the ground running" and effectively begin <br />construction activities without delay! <br />City of Pleasanton - Project No, 991035 <br />Exhibit A <br />APPROACH <br />Tetra Tech's approach to construction <br />management for your project is to provide the <br />City with an integrated project approach that <br />combines all construction management activities <br />under the direction and supervision of the <br />construction manager. Bijan Daneshmand, <br />our assigned Construction Manager, will be <br />charged with overseeing and coordinating all <br />office administration and field inspection <br />activity. By providing all construction <br />management and administration services under <br />the direction of a single Construction Manager, <br />we can provide a seamless, well- organized <br />project with a single point of control. He will <br />conduct regularly scheduled project meetings, <br />maintain project documentation files, and <br />coordinate the activities of our field inspector. <br />Mr. Daneshmand will be able to quickly and <br />accurately update City staff on project status and <br />issues at any time during the project. <br />With an emphasis on communication, <br />anticipation of problems and problem solving <br />(see Figure 1 -1), the Tetra Tech Construction <br />Management Team will be a positive extension <br />of the City's staff. <br />WORK PLAN <br />Key to successfully completing your project is <br />the following approach: <br />• Developing and following a detailed <br />Construction Management Procedures <br />Manual. <br />• Communicating directly with the City's <br />project team on a daily basis. <br />• Responding to contractor requests and <br />submittals expeditiously. <br />• Working with all parties to keep your <br />project moving and to exceed your schedule. <br />TETRA TECH INC. <br />
