CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 99-030 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br />REGARDING <br />ARGUMENTS <br /> <br />AMENDING RESOLUTION <br /> SIGNATORIES OF <br /> <br />NO. 99-020 <br />REBUTTAL <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of March 9, 1999, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 99-020 <br />establishing June 8, 1999 as the date for a special municipal election and <br />establishing various policies and procedures in connection therewith; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 3(e) specified that rebuttal arguments shall be signed by the same persons <br /> who signed the direct arguments; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Elections Code §9285 does not expressly prohibit different persons signing the <br />rebuttal and historically in Pleasanton different persons have been allowed to sign <br />primary and rebuttal arguments. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />Resolution No. 99-020, Section 3(e) is amended to delete the requirement that the <br />same persons who signed the direct arguments shall sign the rebuttal arguments. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
