CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 99-024 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AMENDING THE PLEASANTON CITY <br /> EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION (PCEA) SALARY SCHEDULE <br /> TO REFLECT NEW JOB CLASSIFICATIONS AND SALARY <br /> RANGES FOR THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL LIBRARY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, compensation for the City's miscellaneous employees is set forth in the <br /> Memorandum of Understanding between the City and the Pleasanton City <br /> Employees Association (PCEA); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, while the City Council adopted a new compensation plan for the PCEA on <br /> November 18, 1998, Council's recommendation to establish an independent <br /> municipal library requires the establishment of various job classifications and <br /> salary ranges to operate the new library; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, approval of this resolution allows staff to set salaries for the new library positions <br /> and to conduct a comprehensive recruitment of qualified personnel prior to the <br /> transition date of July 1, 1999; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this resolution does not change other terms and conditions of the current <br /> Memorandum of Understanding between the City and the PCEA, which expires on <br /> October 31, 2000. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The salary schedule of the current Memorandum of Understanding between the <br /> City and the PCEA is amended as set forth in the attached exhibit to provide for <br /> the salary ranges for the positions of Senior Librarian, Librarian, Library Assistant, <br /> Supervising Library Clerk, and Library Clerk, for the period November 1, 1998 <br /> through October 31, 2000. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
