CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 99-020 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING JUNE 8, 1999 AS THE DATE <br />FOR A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION, AND <br />ESTABLISHING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES IN <br />CONNECTION THEREWITH <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of March 2, 1999, the City Council accepted the City Clerk's <br /> certification of a referendum petition with respect to Ordinance No. 1769, which <br /> Ordinance prezoned and conditionally approved the development plan for the <br /> Merritt property on Foothill Road; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after discussion by Council, the Council determined to hold the election on the <br /> referendum in June 1999; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Elections Code §9282 sets forth the procedures for arguments in favor of or in <br /> opposition to any city measure; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Elections Code §9285 sets forth the procedures for rebuttal arguments. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />.Section 1- <br /> <br />Section 2: <br /> <br />Call for Special Election. Pursuant to Elections Code §9241, the City Council <br />hereby establishes June 8, 1999 as the date for the election at which the voters of <br />Pleasanton shall decide whether or not to approve the Ordinance prezoning and <br />conditionally approving the development plan for the Merritt property on Foothill <br />Road, a copy of which Ordinance is attached to this resolution. The Measure shall <br />be designated by letter by the County of Alameda Registrar of Voters. <br /> <br />Ballot Language.
