call outs occuring within any two hour period. Employees may be compensated for overtime worked either by monetary payment or by compensatory time off, at the option of theemployee. Compensatory time shall accrue at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times the overtime hours worked. Compensatory time off which accrues in excess of fifty (50) hours must be liquidated by monetary payment. All monetary payments for overtime must be paid not later than the next biweekly payroll following the pay period in which the overtime was worked. Utilization of compensatory time off shall be by mutual agreement between the Department Head and the employee. Upon termination, the employee shall be paid for his/her unused compensatory time. Overtime shall not be assigned on the basis of employee's choice of monetary payment or compensatory time off. Once per year, employees may be paid for all accrued compensatory time. Said payments shall be made on the first pay day in December. Written requests for payment must be made by the employee fifteen (15) days in advance of the first pay day in December. Section S. Standbv Time Standbytime is that amount of specific and predetermined time that an employee is required to be on call in addition to the normal work day and shall be compensated at a rate of pay equal to twenty (20) hours of pay for each seven (7) day period spent on standby. The hours of daily standby duty for water division employees and sanitary sewer division employees shall be 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The requirement that employees in the classification of water system operators and sanitary system operators work standby shall be set forth in the job descriptions of such classifications. Section 9. Police Clerk Traininq Pay Police Clerks assigned responsibility to train new police clerks as part of a formalized departmental training program shall be paid the sum of eighty-five dollars ($85.00) for each complete and continuous four week period spent training. For periods spent training of less than or more than four continuous weeks, said eight-five dollars ($85.00) payment shall be prorated on a daily basis (to the nearest whole work day).
