CiTY COUNCIL OF THE CiTY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 94-23 <br /> <br /> RESOL~ON ADDING AGENDA ITEM REGARDING <br /> LABOR NEGOTIATIONS CONCERNING POLICE <br /> OFFICERS ASSOCIATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager initiated labor negotiations with representatives of the <br /> Pigton Police Officers Association; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, before negotiations can proceed very far, it is necessary for the negotiating team <br /> to have clear direction from the City Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the need for such direction did not arise until al~er the agenda for the March 1, <br /> 1994 meeting was posted and Council will not meet again in regular session until <br /> March 15, 1994; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Brown Act permits the Council to add an item to the agenda upon a two-thirds <br /> vote of the Council that the item arose after the time the agenda was posted; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order for the negotiations to proceed in a timely manner, it is necessary to <br /> have Council direction before its next meeting on March 15, 1994; <br /> <br />NOW, TI-IF~REFORE, THE CiTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOL~ <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SeCtiOn 1: Based on the findings set forth above, a closed session discussion concerning the <br /> Police Officers Association labor negotiations is hereby added to the March 1, <br /> 1994 agenda for Council consideration and action, if necessary. <br /> <br />SeCtion 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I t-IF~REBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HFJI} ON MARCH 1, 1994 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Mohr, Pico, Scfibner, and Vice Mayor Dennis <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Tarvet <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> ATTEST: <br /> <br /> Peggy~,/dF_.~d?6, Cit~lerk <br /> <br />Michael H.
