CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 95-124 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A JOINT <br /> APPLICATION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AND <br /> THE CITY OF LIVERMORE TO THE ALAMEDA <br /> COUNTY LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION <br /> COMMISSION (LAFCO) TO ADJUST THE <br /> SPHERE-OF-INFLUENCE BOUNDARY BET~VEEN <br /> THE TWO JURISDICTIONS TO ALLOW FOR THE <br /> ANNEXATION OF A 24-ACRE PARCEL AT THE <br /> SOUTH END OF THE LIVERMORE MUNICIPAL <br /> AIRPORT RUN'vVAY FOR AIRPORT SAFETY <br /> PURPOSES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Livermore recently purchased a 24-acre parcel at the south end <br /> of the Livermore Municipal Airport runway for airport safety purposes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this site is located in unincorporated area of Alameda County and within <br /> the Pleasanton Sphere-of-Influence; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a hearing was held before the City Council on October 17, 1995, at which <br /> time all pertinent testimony and documents were reviewed; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council made the following findings: <br /> <br /> 1. The subject site is located within the City of Pleasanton's Sphere of <br /> Influence and within the "Airport Safety Zone" for the Livermore <br /> Municipal Airport. <br /> <br /> 2. The City of Livermore purchased the site to enhance airport <br /> operational safety, reduce noise impacts on future land uses, and <br /> protect the Airport from incompatible development activity. <br /> <br /> <br />
