CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 95-113 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE POLICY OF <br /> LIMITING SERVICE ON BOARDS AND <br /> COM1VIISSIONS TO EIGHT YEARS <br />WHEREAS, in order to maintain a fresh outlook and to obtain new input from its <br /> members, it is appropriate to limit the time a regular member of any <br /> regularly appointed Board or Commission member of the City of Pleasanton <br /> serves to eight years only; and <br />WHEREAS, by putting this limit on service, it will allow more members of the <br /> community to serve on these Boards and Commissions and encourage more <br /> citizen participation in the government of their city; and <br /> WHEREAS, as a result of commissioner resignations, it may be necessary to adjust the <br /> term of a commissioner to assure that scheduled expiration dates occur on <br /> May 1 or October 1 of each year; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1: Resolution No. 83-17 (A Resolution Reaffirming the Policy of Limiting <br /> .... Service on Boards and Commissions to Two Terms) is rescinded. <br /> <br /> ~: Any regularly appointed member of a Board or Commission shall serve no <br /> more than eight years. <br /> <br /> Section____3:The Council may adjust the term of a commissioner to assure that a <br /> majority of a commission's members terms do not expire during one <br /> particular year or to realign the scheduled term expiration dates for <br /> members of a commission. <br /> <br /> <br />
