CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 95-100 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TIlE REPORTING OF TIlE CITY' S PAYMENT OF CERTAIN EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT CONTRIBUTIONS AS SPECIAL COMPENSATION WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has the authority to implement Government Code Section 20023(c)(4) pursuant to Government Code Section 20615; and WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has a written labor policy and agreements which specifically provide for the inclusion of normal member contributions paid by the employer on behalf of the members as additional compensation; and WHEREAS, to implement Section 20023(c)(4) the governing body of the City of Pleasanton must adopt a resolution giving notice of its intention to commence reporting the value of employer paid member contributions as compensation for all members of a group or class; and WHEREAS, the following is a statement of the proposed change in reporting compensation to PERS: The City of Pleasanton elects to pay nine percent of employees' compensation earnable as Employer Paid Member Contributions and report the same percent (value) of compensation earnable (excluding Government Code Section 20023(c)(4)) as additional compensation. This benefit shall apply to all fire public safety employees in positions/classifications included in the bargaining group represented by the International Association of Firefighters Local 1974. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The City Council of the City of Pleasanton shall implement Government Code Section 20023(c)(4) pursuant to Section 20615 by paying and reporting the value of Employer Paid Member Contributions for certain employees of the City of Pleasanton as indicated above. Section 2: This resolution shall become effective August 26, 1995.
