Resolution No. 95-83 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br /> uses, this site warrants such a PUD zoning because of the sensitive <br /> nature of determining an appropriate development and use for this <br /> site. However, the proposed development and land use proposed by <br /> the applicant has been perceived as an inappropriate use for this site <br /> by the residential community that surrounds it, and the proposed <br /> self-storage facility is not the best use for the site. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council concludes as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. The proposed plan is not in the best interests of the public health, <br /> safety, and general welfare. <br /> <br /> 2. The proposed plan would not be consistent with the General Plan. <br /> <br /> 3. The proposed plan would not be compatible with the previously <br /> developed properties in the vicinity. <br /> <br /> 4. The proposed streets and buildings have not been designed and <br /> located to complement the natural terrain and landscape. <br /> <br /> 5. The proposed plan does not conform to the purposes of the PUD <br /> District. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Denies the appeal (AP-95-7) of James Knuppe from the decision of the <br /> Planning Commission to deny the application for a PUD plan to construct <br /> a two-story, 108,000 square foot self-storage facility at 5700 Pleasant Hill <br /> Road. <br /> <br />Section 2: The City Clerk shall forward a certified copy of this resolution to the <br /> appellant with a notice that he has ninety (90) days following the date of <br /> adoption of this resolution in which to seek judicial review of this action of <br /> the City Council. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br /> adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
