EXHIBIT "A'~ <br /> <br /> FUNDING CATEGORIF~S <br /> <br />New Category_ - Youth Programs - <br />Youth Initiated or Initiated by Agencies/Organizations <br /> <br />A. Challenge Grant - Maximum Per Grant: $5,000 <br /> <br /> Definition: Challenge grants will be awarded to youth programs or special events <br /> with unusual, often one-time-only, financial demands. The grant will be awarded <br /> for a percent of funds raised by the group, not to exceed 50%. <br /> <br />B. Challenge Loan - Maximum Per Grant: $10,000 <br /> <br /> Definition: Challenge loans will be awarded to youth programs' special events <br /> with unusual, often one-time-only, financial demands. The loan will be awarded <br /> considering a specific time and a definite strategy for repayment. <br /> <br />C. YOuth Leadership Grant - Maximum Per Grant: $5,000 <br /> <br /> Definition: Youth leadership grant swill be awarded for creative and innovative <br /> projects initiated and promoted by Pleasanton youth, and the result of the project <br /> will result in youth development. Projects may be a program or an event or may <br /> be a one-time-only capital item. <br /> <br />D. Youth Program Assistance <br /> <br /> $5,000 to be set aside as a pool of funds to be available for low-income Pleasanton <br /> youth to participate in programs and activities sponsored by school, City or <br /> nonprofit organizations. Uncxpendcd funds to be returned to the City at the <br /> conclusion of the funding year. <br /> <br /> - Program assistance grant to be a reimbursement program administered by <br /> the City. <br /> <br /> - Eligibility to be determined by verification determined by staff. (Example - <br /> AFDC recipient) <br /> <br /> <br />
