CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY. CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 95-42 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION DESIGNATING 'FILE CITY'S REPI,tESENTATIVE TO REVIEW <br /> RETAIL LICENSE APPLICATIONS SUBNIITTED TO THE CALIFORNIA <br /> DEPARTi%IENT OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTROL <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Business and Professions Code Section 23958 mandates the California <br /> Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control deny retail license applications under <br /> certain conditions unless the local jurisdiction's designated representative can <br /> demonstrate the license issuance would be in the public convenience or necessity; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton and its Police Department has a long-standing working <br /> relationship for the review of retail licenses with the California Department of <br /> Alcoholic Beverage Control: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton wishes to comply with Section 23958 and build upon the <br /> established working relationship with the California Department of Alcoholic <br /> Beverage Control. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS; <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council appoints the Pleasanton Chief of Police as the designated <br /> representative to review and comrnent on retail license applications <br /> submitted by Pleasanton businesses to the California Department of <br /> Alcoholic Beverage Control. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br /> adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
