CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION NO. 95-35

RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF
INTERIM DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS FOR THE
VINEYARD CORRIDOR AND NORTH SYCAMORE
AREA

WHEREAS, the Vineyard Corridor and the North Sycamore Area were annexed to the
City of Pleasanton in 1992 and prezoned to various PUD (Planned Unit
Development) zoning districts; and

WHEREAS, the North Sycamore Area was the subject of a Specific Plan adopted by the
City Council in 1992, and planning for the Vineyard Corridor has been
temporarily halted pending completion of the General Plan update process;
and

WHEREAS, neither area has City services available to it, with the exception of a sewer
line located in a portion of Sycamore Road; and

WHEREAS, in both areas there are a small number of existing lots, created in the
County, for which some property owners have expressed an interest in
constructing a single-family home, or building an addition to an existing
home; however, the City does not have interim standards for such
development on existing lots, which standards would address issues such as
water, sewer, access, building cede requirements, and fire suppression
needs prior to the provision of City services; and

WHEREAS, it was determined that these issues should now be addressed in order to give
direction to property owners desiring to build or enlarge homes on existing
lots prior to the availability of City services; and

WHEREAS, Council received the Planning Commission's recommendation for approval
of the proposed interim development standards; and

WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held on March 21, 1995; and

WHEREAS, the City Council determined that the proposed interim development
standards for the Vineyard Corridor and the North Sycamore Area are
appropriate.
