-- Existing Transportation Cor~'tions <br /> <br /> BiShOp Ranch <br /> <br />- The Bishop Ranch Business Park operates a shuttle that provides two types of <br /> servi~ a commuter service and a convenience/shopping service. The commuter <br /> service rnns from the Walnut Creek BART Station to Bishop Ranch. This service is <br />_ provided exclusively for employees of tenants of S-nset Development Corporation. <br /> (This service is not available to Chevron, Pacific Bell, or AT&T employees.) This <br /> service operates with 20-minute headways from 5:30 AM to 9:30 AM and from 3:30 <br /> PM to 6:10 PM. Average weekday ridership is 250 patrons per day. <br /> <br /> The convenience/shopping service runs from Bishop Ranch to Crow Canyon Commons, <br /> Diablo Plaza, and Marketplace Plaza (commercial/retail centers in the area). This <br /> service is provided for employees of tenants of Sunset Development Corporation and <br /> employees of Pacific Bell. This service operates with 10-minute headways from 11:30 <br /> AM to 1:30 PM. Average weekday ridership is 40 patrons per day. Both shuttle <br /> services are provided free of charge. <br /> <br /> In addition to the shuttle service, Bishop Ranch provides other trenspertation services. <br />-"- The trnnspertation center is linked with the RIDES Bay Area ridesharing commuter <br /> network and two full-time employees are available to assist potential carpool/vanpool <br /> riders get matched. Other services provided by Bishop Ranch include the sale of local <br />-- tr3nsit tickets, promotional events, a preferential parking progrnm, and bicycle <br /> facilities. Bishop Ranch has been offering transportation services for over eight years. <br /> <br /> The Bishop Ranch shuttle has operated near or at capacity since it began. Other types <br /> of commute modes are monitored by Bishop Ranch, and percentages of drive-alone <br /> trips have decreased in the past year, while percentages of carpool, vanpool, and other <br /> non-single occupancy vehicle (SOV) trips have increased. <br /> <br /> Hacienda Business Park <br /> <br /> Hacienda Business Park maintains two transit contracts--one with BART and one <br /> with WHEELS--that allow employees of Hacienda Business Park to ride free. <br /> Participation in the BART program generates approximately 150 patrons per day. <br /> Participation in the WHEELS program runs approximately 160 patrons per day and <br /> has increased by more than 100 percent since 1990, according to John Deaver at the <br /> Hacienda Business Park Owners' Assodation. Hacienda Business Park also provides to <br /> its employees preferential parking for carpools and vanpools and connections on-site, <br /> through FAX and phone, to the RIDES Bay Area ridesharing commuter network. <br /> <br /> Trip Reducfion ravel Demand Management Ordinances <br /> <br /> All Tri-Valley cities and counties have trip reduction ordinances in compliance with <br /> CMP requirements and Regulation 13 of the Bay Area Air Quality Management <br /> District. These are targeted at major employers with the intention of reducing peak- <br /> hour trip-making. Many employers have employee commute coordinators, who monitor <br /> <br /> Barion-Aschman Associates, Inc. 35 <br /> <br /> <br />
