29.2 Helmets <br />Leather helmets are to remain with each individual at retirement. <br />29.3 Stress EKG Examination <br />The Department shall provide all employees over the age of 40 with a twelve lead stress EKG <br />examination biannually. Effective 1995/96, one half of the eligible members will be tested. In <br />1996/1997, the second half of the eligible members will be tested. The cycle will continue <br />thereafter. Results of the exam will be confidential between the employee and the test provider. <br />29.4 Physical Fitnpgs Program <br />A mandatory physical fitness program shall be provided to the employees by the Department as <br />outlined in Fire Department G.O. 700.03. <br />29.5 List of Continuing Items Between the Parties <br />Language to describe the "Hazardous Materials Response Team" will be developed and attached <br />as Appendix C. <br />29.6 FMT -10 Certification <br />Emergency Medical Technician ID is a mandatory condition of employment for fire suppression <br />personnel. The Department will provide and pay for associated expense relating to the <br />recertification process. if an employee does not successfully complete EMT -1D recertification <br />requirements as provided by the Department, they will have six months to meet recertification <br />requirements or be subject to termination for failure to meet position standards. The expenses, <br />in this case, will be the responsibility of the employee. The six month time frame, if requested.. <br />may be extended due to course availability. However, the employee must enroll and participate <br />in the first available course. <br />29.7 Staffing <br />Nothing in this agreement modifies any company staffing agreements unique to each City. <br />29.8 Phasing <br />The parties recognize that there will be a phasing in of the operational changes during the <br />transition period from January 1 through June 30, 1997. <br />22 <br />
