The monthly premium of the vision care benefit shall be <br /> paid by the City. <br /> <br />15.7 Health and Welfare Benefit Continuation <br /> <br /> Employees off work due to verifiable personal illness and having exhausted their accrued <br /> sick leave benefits set forth in Section 13 shall continue their eligibility for health and <br /> welfare payments in accordance with Section 14. Employees off work on leaves of <br /> absence without pay shall not be eligible for said health and welfare benefit payments. <br /> <br />Section 16. Retirement <br /> <br /> During the term of this contract, the City shall continue to provide the PERS 2% at 55 <br /> retirement plan including the following options: "Credit for Unused Sick Leave", "1959 <br /> Survivors Second Level", and "One Year Final Compensation Option". <br /> <br /> Effective March 1, 1982, the City shall pay the employee's contribution to the Public <br /> Employee's Retirement System (PERS). The amount of said City payment shall equal, <br /> but not exceed seven percent (7%) of the employee's compensation subject to retirement <br /> contributions and shall be reported to PERS as "special compensation". <br /> <br /> For the one police dispatcher currently enrolled in the Public Employees' Retirement <br /> System's "Public Safety Retirement Program," the City shall pay the contribution to <br /> PERS. The amount of said City payment shall equal, but not exceed nine pement (9%) of <br /> the employee's compensation subject to retirement contribution. In recognition of this <br /> higher contribution by the City, the base monthly salaries paid this employee, effective <br /> November 2, 1996, shall be as follows: <br /> <br /> Police Dispatcher (1) $3712 <br /> <br /> Section 17. Uniforms <br /> <br /> The City shall provide all necessary safety and protective clothing, as defmed by the City <br /> Manager upon the recommendation of the Department Head. The City shall provide fifty <br /> percent (50%) of the initial purchase price of uniforms for those Police and Fire <br /> Department employees required to wear a prescribed uniform. <br /> <br /> 17.1 City_ Provided Uniforms <br /> <br /> The City shall provide uniforms to certain classifications as set forth in the "Employee <br /> Uniform Program" dated December 1991. <br /> <br /> -21 - <br /> <br /> <br />
