Resolution No. 96-88 Page Two WHEREAS, a continuous exchange of information between the sub-committees took place through the co-chairs at Steering Committee meetings; and WHEREAS, upon completion of the sub-committee work the Steering Committee reviewed the various recommendations with the purpose of coordinating them and resolving potentially conflicting recommendations between sub-committees; and WHEREAS, based on the Steering Committee's recommendations, City staff then prepared a Draft General Plan, dated January 31, 1996, (sometimes referred to as the General Plan update), and prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Report, dated January 31, 1996, a fiscal analysis, and an alternatives report; and WHEREAS, the Assembly and Steering Committee then reviewed the General Plan update prior to review and recommendation by the Planning Commission; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission conducted public hearings on the General Plan update on April 1, 1996 and April 15, 1996; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission discussed the General Plan update at meetings on April 29, 1996, May 6, 1996, May 8, 1996 and May 13, 1996; and WHEREAS, on May 13, 1996, the Planning Commission recommended that the City Council adopt the General Plan update, subject to certain changes; and WHEREAS, the City Council conducted public hearings on the General Plan update on May 28, 1996, and on June 13, 1996, an took further public input and testimony on July 1, 2, 9, 15, 16, and 25, 1996, and on August 6, 1996; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the Final Environmental Impact Report for the Pleasanton General Plan update, has found it complete and in compliance with CEQA, and has certified it. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Adopts the Findings Concerning Significant Impacts as set forth in Exhibit 1. Section 2: Adopts the Mitigation Monitoring and Report Plan as set forth in Exhibit 2.
