City of Pleasanton <br /> Suggestion Award Program <br /> <br />SUGGESTION: A suggestion is a proposal voluntarily submitted in writing <br /> which contains both the identification of something which could be improved <br /> in City operations or practices and an acceptable solution, or indicates a way in <br /> which a City activity can be done quicker, better, easier, safer or at less cost. <br /> The mere statement of the need for improvements is NOT a suggestion. <br /> <br />Ilrl!O IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE: All non-management regular <br /> full-time and regular part-time employees are eligible to participate in the <br /> Suggestion A nard Program. <br /> <br />SUBMITTING A SUGGESTION: Suggestions are to be submitted to the <br /> Personnel Office on the Employee Suggestion Form. Suggestion forms are <br /> available from Jan Desmarais, Personnel Department; Nancy Kastanek, OSC; <br /> and Delcea Wills, Parks and Community Services. One copy will be given to <br /> the suggester, one copy to the Personnel Department, one copy returned to <br /> suggester with a number assigned, and one copy without identification of <br /> suggester is sent out to the appropriate department for evaluation. Suggestions <br /> are active one year from receipt by the Personnel Department. <br /> <br /> The appropriate Department Head will have 30 days to review practicality and <br /> merit of the suggestion. The suggestion form and the written evaluation from <br /> the Department Head will be sent to the Suggestion Award Committee for <br /> review. <br /> <br /> The Suggestion A ward Committee will be comprised of one member from the <br /> Recognition Committee, one member from the Finance Department, and one <br /> member from the City Manager's office. The committee will meet quarterly to <br /> review suggestions. The recommendations of the Suggestion A ward Committee <br /> w~l be submitted to the City Manager for final determination. After the City <br /> Manager's determination, the suggester will be notified of the decision with a <br /> copy of the staff recommendation within 30 days. <br /> <br /> <br />
