EXHIBIT A <br /> <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> FOR <br /> <br /> EMERGENCY WATER SERVICES BETWEEN THE DUBLIN SAN RAMON SERVICES <br /> DISTRICT AND THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this __ day of , 1996, by and <br /> <br />between DUBLIN SAN RAMON SERVICES DISTRICT, a public agency in the State of California, <br />Counties of Alameda and Contra Costa and CITY OF PLEASANTON, a municipal corporation in <br />the State of California; <br /> <br /> WITNESSETH: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Dublin San Ramon Services District and the City of Pleasanton (sometimes <br />hereinafier referred to as "DISTRICT' and "CITY", respectively) are responsible for providing <br />potable water at all times to customers within their respective service areas; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Dublin San Ramon Services District and the CITY have adjoining service <br />areas; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the event of an emergency in either agency, it may become desirable for one <br />agency to supply water temporarily to the other agency for the duration of the emergency; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this agreement pertains solely to the provision of water during emergency <br />conditions and shall not be construed to provide supplemental or other water services or sales. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and agreements hereinafter <br />set forth, the parties hereto agree as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. DEFINITION OF EMERGENCY.
