CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 96-18 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF <br /> DEAN A. NADEM FOR A CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC <br /> CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY TO OPERATE A <br /> TAXI SERVICE IN THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dean A. Nadem has applied to the City for a Certificate of Public <br /> Convenience and Necessity to operate a taxi service in the City of <br /> Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as provided in Chapter 6.40, Pleasanton Municipal Code, the police <br /> department conducted its investigation as to the applicant and has provided <br /> to the City Council a positive report and recommendation (SR 96:49); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council on February 20, 1996 considered this application, at which <br /> time oral and docmentary evidence was considered; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council fin& that further taxicab service in the City is required for <br /> the public convenience and necessity and that the applicant is fit, willing <br /> and able to perform the requirements of Chapter 6.40 and any and all rules <br /> promulgated by the Police Chief. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Declares that the public convenience and necessity require additional <br /> taxicab service. <br /> <br />Section 2: Authorizes the Police Chief to issue to Dean A. Nadem a certi_'flcate, as <br /> provided in Chapter 6.40, Pleasanton Municipal Code, subject to the <br /> following: <br /> <br /> (a) The operator to comply in all respects with Chapter 6.40, Pleasanton <br /> Municipal Code; <br /> <br /> (b) The color scheme of the taxicabs shall be approved by the Police <br /> Chief but shall not include the color yellow; <br /> <br /> <br />
