,~,~.~ CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 98-123 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE CITY OF LIVERMORE <br /> FIRE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES TO BE THE <br /> EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, effective December 3, 1996, the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Joint <br /> Powers Authority CJPA") was created for the purpose of merging the fire <br /> departments of the City of Livermore and the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the JPA has designated the City of Pleasanton as the JPA's lead agency for the <br /> purpose of providing financial, personnel and other administrative services for the <br /> Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, to provide financial, personnel and other administrative services, it is necessary <br /> that all fire department employees be employees of the lead agency, namely, the <br /> City of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Pleasanton is willing to accept such employees as <br /> employees of the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The fire department public safety employees and miscellaneous fire department <br /> management employees of the City of Livermore shall be designated employees of <br /> the City of Pleasanton effective on a date established by the JPA, but no later than <br /> December 31, 1998. <br /> <br />Section2: Following discussions with employee .association representatives, the fire <br /> department miscellaneous clerical employees of the City of Livermore shall be <br /> designated employees of the City of Pleasanton effective on a date established by <br /> the JPA, but no later than December 31, 1998. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
