THE CITY OF Exhibit D <br />~.,. ~ <br />L~~S~4NTONo <br />MEMORANDUM <br />Date: August 4, 1998 <br />To: Pleasanton Police Officers Association Board of Directors <br />From: Chief Bill Eastman <br />Subject: Proposed Four-10 Work Schedule <br />SCHEDULE <br />The four-10 work schedule will apply to officers and sergeants assigned to work in the Operations <br />Division's Patrol and Traffic Bureaus. This work schedule will commence the first pay period following <br />January 1, 2001. Officers and sergeants will work four 10 hour shifts each week, then take three <br />consecutive days offi <br />All other officers and sergeants will continue to work the five-9 work schedule as originally agreed upon <br />and outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding dated April 1, 1995 through March 31, 1998. <br />CONDITIONS <br />An employee's schedule ~Y be suspended and replaced by a "Five-8" work schedule in cases of <br />formalized training courses, military leave, and limited duty occurring in any portion of one or <br />more pay periods. <br />2. The starting and ending time of work shifts will remain a management prerogative. Once <br />established, they may be changed over the long term. <br />3. Any leave will be handled on the basis of the hours taken. Absence on a ten hour day will require <br />10-hours leave. Absence on a nine hour day will require 9-hours leave.
