CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 98-103 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION SUBMITTING VARIOUS MEASURES TO <br /> THE VOTERS OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to California Elections Code Section 9222, the City Council may submit <br /> propositions to the voters; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and considered an Initiative Ordinance to delete the <br /> office of elected Treasurer; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has also reviewed and considered an Initiative Ordinance to <br /> extend the term of the elected mayor from two years to four years; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has also reviewed and considered initiatives concerning the City's <br /> participation in the LAVWMA export pipeline project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 9280 of the Elections Code specifies that the City Council may direct the <br /> City Clerk to transmit a copy of the initiative to the City Attorney to prepare an <br /> impartial analysis of the measure; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 9282 of the Elections Code specifies that the legislative body, or any <br /> member or members of the legislative body authorized by that body, may file a <br /> written argument for any city measure; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 9285 of the Elections Code sets forth the procedures for rebuttal <br /> arguments. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF TI-IE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> <br />
