CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 98-69 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION RENAMING THE PLEASANTON AQUATIC <br /> CENTER TO THE DOLORES BENGTSON AQUATIC <br /> CENTER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dolores Bengtson worked for the City of Pleasanton for over 27 years prior to her <br /> retirement as Director of Parks and Community Services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission conducted a public hearing on April 9, 1998 <br /> to discuss the renaming or rededication of the Aquatic Center; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, considering Ms. Bengtson's stewardship of the City's park system for over 20 years <br /> and her leadership role in the recent expansion of the Aquatic Center, it was the <br /> consensus of the Commission that renaming the Aquatic Center was an appropriate <br /> way to recognize Ms. Bengtson's accomplishments; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Commission has recommended to the City Council that the Aquatic Center be <br /> renamed the Dolores Bengtson Aquatic Center; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The Pleasanton Aquatic Center is hereby renamed the Dolores Bengtson Aquatic <br /> Center. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
