~'~$ CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 98-12 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ALAMEDA COUNTY <br /> TRANSPORTATION EXPENDITURE PLAN AND <br /> AUTHORIZING EXTENSION OF THE 1/2 CENT SALES <br /> TAX <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Alameda County Transportation Authority has approved a new Alameda <br /> County Transportation Expenditure Plan pursuant to the authority of the State <br /> Public Utilities Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Transportation Expenditure Plan was developed by an Expenditure Plan <br /> Development Committee composed of 40 Alameda County residents and <br /> representatives and approved by a Steering Committee composed of 11 elected <br /> officials from Alameda County cities, the Board of Supervisors, the <br /> Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit) and the Bay Area Rapid <br /> Transit District (BART); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the new Transportation Expenditure Plan totaling $1.14 billion consists of <br /> programs and projects that are essential to the movement of the people and goods <br /> throughout Alameda County, will maintain local streets and roads, restore and <br /> enhance transit and paratransit services, and provide critical assistance in solving <br /> significant transportation and congestion problems of Alameda County; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the interests of the City of Pleasanton and its citizens will be benefited by the <br /> implementation of the new Transportation Expenditure Plan and the extension of <br /> the one-half of one percent retail sales/use tax to support the new Transportation <br /> Expenditure Plan. <br /> <br /> <br />
