The Committee will focus on general economic trends, issues and <br /> governmental processes in an attempt to identify opportunities to assist and <br /> promote economic vitality in the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> c. The Committee's role in retaining and attracting business is limited to <br /> providing general information regarding available resources within the <br /> business community and governmental agencies which may be beneficial <br /> towards attracting new businesses to the community and/or retaining <br /> existing businesses. Unless otherwise directed by the City Council, the <br /> Committee shall not engage in any negotiations relative to the relaxation, <br /> expansion or modification of any City regulations, fees, or services. <br /> <br /> d. The Committee shall recommend to the City Council the general types of <br /> businesses and/or markets which would be beneficial to the overall <br /> economic condition of the City. The City Council shall take this <br /> information into consideration when determining active attraction and <br /> retention efforts by the Economic Development Manager. <br /> <br />Section 2: The Economic Vitality Committee shall have one representative from each of the <br /> following groups. The members shall serve without compensation. Members <br /> shall be reimbursed for appropriate expenses incurred when attending conferences <br /> if budgeted and approved by the City Council. <br /> <br /> 1. Chamber of Commerce - An individual recommended by the Chamber's <br /> Executive Board. <br /> <br /> 2. Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Firm - A representative from a real <br /> estate business specializing in commercial sales with an office located in <br /> Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> 3. Retail Business/Center - A representative from a retail store or center in <br /> Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> 4. Downtown Business - A representative from a business located in the city's <br /> downtown district and recommended by the Pleasanton Downtown <br /> Association. <br /> <br /> 5. Residential Builder A representative from a residential builder or <br /> developer which has an office located in Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> <br />
