CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 97-129 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF BAY <br />AREA CAB COMPANY FOR A CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC <br />CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY TO OPERATE A TAXI <br />SERVICE IN THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />WHEREAS, the Bay Area Yellow Cab Company has applied to the City for a Certificate of <br />Public Convenience and Necessity to operate a taxi service in the City of <br />Pleasanton; and <br />WHEREAS, as provided in Chapter. 6.40, Pleasanton Municipal Code, the police department <br />conducted its investigation as to the applicant and has provided to the City Council <br />a positive report and recommendation (SR 97:305); and <br />WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held on October 21, 1997, at which time oral <br />and documentary evidence was considered; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council fords that further taxicab service in the City is required for the <br />public convenience and necessity and that the applicant is fit, willing and able to <br />perform the requirements of Chapter 6.40 and any and all rules promulgated by the <br />Police Chief. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1: The City Council declares that the public convenience and necessity require <br />additional taxicab service. <br />Section 2: Authorizes the Police Chief to issue to the Bay Area Yellow Cab Company a <br />certificate, as provided in Chapter 6.40, Pleasanton Municipal Code, said company <br />to do business under the name "Bay Area Cab Company". <br />Section 3: The maximum taxi rates shall be as set forth in the Master Fee Schedule. <br />Section 4: Approves green and yellow as the color for the applicant's taxicabs. <br />
